Same workflow. No per-contact bill.

ManyChat built the category. But they charge per contact stored — which means a viral Reel can triple your bill overnight. Mastak charges a flat $12/month, no matter how many people comment.

The short version

ManyChat is the most widely adopted comment-to-DM tool on the market, with a flow builder most creators already know. But the pricing model breaks down the moment your content works. Mastak is built for accounts that post consistently — flat rate, real AI that closes (not just replies), and no anxiety when a Reel goes viral.

The pricing difference is structural, not cosmetic

ManyChat's Free plan caps at 25 contacts. After that, you pay per contact stored — the more your audience grows, the more you owe. Users on Reddit have documented bills jumping from $15 to $300+ after a single viral post, because every commenter who got a DM became a billable contact. The per-contact model was reasonable when comment-to-DM was a niche tactic. Now that it's table stakes for Instagram creators, it's a liability. Mastak charges a flat monthly rate. Start is $12/month whether you get 10 DMs a day or 3,000.

One price. No overage math.

ManyChat has an AI step. Mastak has an AI salesperson.

ManyChat's AI is a node you add to a flow — it handles a turn in the conversation, then exits. Context doesn't carry over between sessions. It also requires a paid plan plus a bring-your-own API key to unlock, making the effective cost significantly higher than the plan price. Mastak's AI runs the entire conversation: it remembers what each lead said in previous sessions, moves them through a qualification → value → objection → close sequence, and knows when to hand off to a human. No key required — it's included in the flat rate.

AI that remembers. Included.

Flow builder vs. plain-text setup

ManyChat uses a visual node canvas — drag blocks, draw connections, configure each branch. Experienced users can build complex flows in it. Mastak takes a different approach: you describe your product and sales goal in plain text, pick a playbook, and the AI handles the rest conversationally. There is no canvas to maintain. When your offer changes, you update a text field, not a 15-node diagram.

Update once. Not fifteen nodes.

Both use the official Meta API

ManyChat uses Meta's official Graph API — same as Mastak. Neither uses scraping or unofficial access methods. Where they differ: ManyChat went through Meta's App Review years ago and has a large install base. Mastak is going through App Review now, with Instagram in developer mode during the period before approval (Telegram works immediately). If you need Instagram automation live today and can't wait for App Review, that's an honest reason to start with ManyChat and migrate later.

Official API. Telegram live immediately.

Common questions

Can I import my ManyChat flows into Mastak?
ManyChat's flow format is proprietary and closed — there's no standard import. What comes over easily: your Telegram bot token, your AI knowledge base, and your contacts (via the Google Sheets workaround, since ManyChat doesn't have a CSV export). Flows don't transfer directly, but the 5 most common setups have direct Mastak playbook equivalents that take about 10 minutes to configure.
Does Mastak work while it's in Meta App Review?
Yes — Telegram works immediately, no review required. Instagram works in developer mode during App Review (you can test with accounts added to your Meta developer app). If you're running Instagram at scale and need production access today, that's a real consideration — we're honest about it.
ManyChat has way more integrations. Does that matter?
ManyChat integrates with HubSpot, Google Sheets, Klaviyo, and others. Mastak currently focuses on the core IG + Telegram + AI pipeline. If you rely on a specific integration that isn't available, that's a legitimate blocker. Most creators who switch find they didn't actually use most of the integrations they had enabled.
What happens to my contacts if I switch mid-month?
Your ManyChat account stays active until you cancel it — there's no forced cutover. Run both in parallel during migration, then cancel once Mastak is live. Contacts in Mastak are per-plan with no overage charge.
